QVÄNUM MAT & MALT AT GATEGÅRDEN, A PLACE FOR ALL WHO LOVE GOOD FOOD AND DRINK TO MEET!

The Gategården farm is located in old Badene village known from the 6^th century.

The farmhouse and the stone cowshed bear witness to the estate’s rank prior to the previous millennium shift. The village dairy was also located here.

Claes and Annica Wernerson own the property today. Founders of Werners Gourmét Service, they were awarded the Vara Municipality Building Preservation and Environment Prize in 2006.

Guests from near and far visit to enjoy the relaxed and calm atmosphere, wishing to settle in and partake of a meal prepared using locally produced raw materials in season or perhaps to try their hand at working in the kitchen to prepare wonderful meals together with our chef. It is also possible to participate in drink and chocolate tastings, either separately or in combination with a menu.

At one end of the old cowshed you will find the brewery and be offered the opportunity to taste the farm’s own beer.

Certified 2006 by the Västsvensk Mersmak jury of the West Sweden Tourist Board with the following motivation: excellent food quality, high share of locally produced raw materials, applies the area’s culinary traditions in innovative ways and makes the meal an unusual experience. Qvänum Mat & Malt was also awarded the Environment and Building Preservation Prize from Vara Municipality.
